Textured Leaves

Avete presente quel momento in cui vi accorgete che quella cosa che credevate essere perfetta (o quantomeno discreta, buona, passabile) sia, in realtà, mediocre, o comunque non all'altezza delle vostre aspettative? Ecco. A me è successo con questa manicure, una delle tante scartate per la 31 DC 2014., e che oggi vi propongo per ingannare il tempo in un pomeriggio di una pigra domenica autunnale.

Halloween is over, the sun shines bright in the sky (or I hope so), and after a fright night with vampires, witches, ghosts and werewolves, today I'm gonna share with you something simple and easy, after the 31 Day Challenge 2014. 

Actualy, this is something I decided to no share with you because, when I saw the photos, I have realized that my idea wasn't so brilliant and nice as I have though. I'm going to share it with you today, to spent together this lazy sunday afternoon, while Fall shines in his copper dress beyond our windows.

Ho già espresso il mio parere sul Kiko 272 qui e non mi ripeterò. Ho piazzato alcune strisce di striping tape al centro ed ai lati dell'unghia per simulare le nervature di una foglia. Quindi ho fissato un pezzo di nastro adesivo removibile (quello opaco da ufficio) e ho steso prima il verde menta e dopo il rosso magenta. Mi piaceva l'idea di simulare il passaggio dal verde al rosso delle foglie... anche se di foglie di quel verde non credo ne abbiano mai viste nemmeno su Gallifrey...

Non sarà la striping tape più precisa di questa terra, d'accordo, ma secondo me simula abbastanza bene le nervature di una foglia. Ho mostrato di peggio, ne convengo con voi, ma... c'è qualcosa che non mi convince. E non so cos'è!

Voi che ne pensate? Scommetto che è capitato anche a voi di ritrovarvi tra le mani (letteralmente) qualcosa che sì, è anche passabile, ma che però... però... però.

Nail Polishes I used:
Kiko 272 Metallic Gray
Kiko Sugar Mat 633 Magenta
Kiko Sugar Mat 636 Mint Green

I have shown you Kiko Metallic Gray here. I used it as base for my manicure, then I placed striping tape over my nails to recreate the ribs on the back of the leaves. Then I have used a piece of removable scotch tape on half nail and I painted the other half with two polishes (mint green first, red magenta after).
 I used red and green to simulate the switch from summer (green leaves) to autumn (roed ones), although those kind of green leaves would be strange even on Gallifrey!
I know, it's not a clean striping tape and I have shown something worst in the past, but there is something I can describe, a feeling so hard to put in words. I just can mumbling. And I don't know exactly why.
I bet you have felt this moment, don't you. The moment when you know tere is something you don't like but you cannot explain it yourself.

Suppongo che se avessi risolto la faccenda con una gradient, adesso non starei mugugnando (o forse sì, perché comunque non sono mai soddisfatta di me stessa, ma questo è un altro discorso). Magari la prossima volta, chissà...

Maybe next time I'll use the gradient technique, and, maybe, I'll be pleased (ok, it's a lie. I never ever shall be satisfied by my nail arts, because I'm very hard to pleased and I refuse to admit my own limits). Or maybe not (probably not).
